Easthampton is a city in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, that was founded in 1664 as a village called Pascommuck. It was part of Northampton until 1785, when it became a separate district, and later a town in 1809. It was named after Jeffrey Amherst, a British general in the French and Indian War. Easthampton developed as an industrial center, especially for textile, elastic, and rubber production.
